Job Duties:

The International Student Services Coordinator will work collaboratively with colleagues in Enrollment Services, and with academic departments, faculty, and staff across campus in the development and implementation of processes that ensure efficient enrollment, retention, and persistence toward completion of program for all international students at the University. The International Student Services Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the processing of all immigration documents for J and F visas, and tracking and reporting on regulatory and process changes related to immigration and visa issues. The International Student Services Coordinator also designs, implements, and evaluates programs to engage and develop international students in order to foster an inclusive and diverse community. The International Student Services Coordinator will advise leadership in Enrollment Services and across campus on procedural and/or business practice improvements related to the support of international students.

The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, have experience processing immigration documents, and demonstrate an awareness of current issues facing international students in today’s higher education environment. The candidate must also possess strong organizational and technical skills, show flexibility in a rapidly changing environment, and display strong problem-solving skills. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively across cultural and language differences is critical.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service regarding the enrollment of all international students; including serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).

  • Develops programming and resource materials, within budget guidelines and across various mediums, to provide co-curricular and engagement opportunities to international students
  • Schedules logistics and secures and manages resources for various programs to support international students
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for international students, promoting their contributions to diverse communities
  • Interprets and communicates student rights, responsibilities, and options related to specific requests and situations
  • Advises on student visa issues through individual consultations and workshops across various mediums

Compensation:

Compensation range of $49,060 - $55,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree at time of application

  • 2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in international education, communications, business, marketing or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience working with international students

  • Knowledge of various technology systems such as Salesforce, Peoplesoft (SIS), Terra Dotta, Via, SEVIS and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Fluency in a second language, preferably Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, or Nepali

Conditions of Appointment:

Some travel is required for necessary meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.  Occasional evening and and/or weekend work is expected and will be assigned by supervisor as needed.

This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule, subject to approved telecommuting request.

The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs. 

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. A pre-employment education check which includes, but is not limited to, the verification of academic credentials will be conducted on the finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s) and if there is prior work history within the last 7 years with Universities of Wisconsin, a personnel file review check for employee misconduct.
